What is Holy Cross Foundation?
Established in 1987 as a separate, non-profit, incorporated ministry partner of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Holy Cross Foundation serves as the trustee for gifts held in an endowed fund. The contribution principle is invested in perpetuity. A gift to the Foundation is a gift that keeps on giving.
What is our Purpose?
The Foundation's earnings are used to encourage and expand the mission and ministry of Holy Cross Lutheran Church and to support special missions of the Christian church in the community, region, and the world.
How are gifts "perpetual"?
Every gift given to the Foundation is invested so as to gain maximum interest return without jeopardizing the principle. Only interest earnings are used to fund grant requests approved by the Foundation Board.
Who operates the Foundation?
The Foundation board, elected by the Holy Cross congregation to serve three-year terms, directs the operations and activities of Holy Cross Foundation. The board solicits and acknowledges donors and sponsors, manages fund selection for the endowment, determines granting cycles based on available funds, chooses grant recipients, holds educational seminars, hosts an annual celebration luncheon and reports annually to the congregation.
The current 2023-2024 board members are: Bryon Eshleman, Rachel Sheldon, Rob Clark, Bill Daniels, Juli Hawks, Tammy Schram and Karen Petzold.

Distribution of Income
Foundation interest is used to fund the ministry of Holy Cross and its partners in the following areas:
- Community Outreach to support the caring witness of God's people
- World Missions, New Ministries and Christian Education
- Unanticipated special needs of Holy Cross Lutheran Church
- Any other valid request that supports or expands the Chrisitan mission on a local, state, national, or international level.
